Elliott is a city located in Montgomery County, Iowa, along the East Nishnabotna River. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 402.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.1 km² (0.4 mi²). 1.1 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there were 402 people, 163 households, and 117 families residing in the city. The population density was 378.6/km² (981.1/mi²). There were 179 housing units at an average density of 168.6/km² (436.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 99.25% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.25% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.50% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 163 households out of which 35.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.4% were married couples living together, 9.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.2% were non-families. 25.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 17.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 2.94.
In the city the population was spread out with 27.1% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 28.9% from 25 to 44, 17.9% from 45 to 64, and 18.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 96.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 102.1 males.
