Felix Calonder

Felix-Louis Calonder (December 7, 1863 - June 14, 1952) was a Swiss politician and Swiss Federal Council (1913-1920).

He was elected to the Federal Council of Switzerland on June 12, 1913 and handed over office on February 12, 1920. He was affiliated to the Free Democratic Party.

During his office time he held the following departments:

He and Giuseppe Motta worked to make Switzerland a member of the League of Nations. On 1920-05-16, Switzerland was admitted by a very close vote (11 for / 10 against). After leaving his government position, he worked with international law professor Max Huber to resolve a conflict between Finland and Åland.

He was President of the Confederation in 1918.
