Final Descent
From Free net encyclopedia
Final Descent is an album by Samhain. It was first released in 1990 as a collection of previously unreleased demo tracks plus partially re-recorded (overdubbed) versions of Unholy Passion. It is essentially an attempt at introducing fans of lead singer Glenn Danzig's new band Danzig to Samhain. It was released on Danzig's independent record label, Plan 9.
When the album was re-released in 2000, the Unholy Passion tracks were removed, and unreleased Samhain IV demos were added. "Twist of Cain," "Trouble," and "Possession" were later re-recorded with the band Danzig. There is some evidence that "Death...In It's Arms" [sic] features Chuck Biscuits on drums, and was recorded during the sessions for Danzig's second album, Danzig II: Lucifuge.
