- A willing form of indecent exposure, akin to exhibitionism, intended to impress and/or sexually stimulate a viewer, and usually distinct from the potentially criminal form of an unwanted, unsolicited display.
- Blinking of a light source, such as a light bulb or computer's cursor
- Flashing (weatherproofing), the shielding put around objects which protrude from a roof
- Flash mob, a sudden gathering of people at a certain place facilitated by the internet or other means of electronic communication
- The process of writing to or updating flash memory devices, such as the BIOS found on computer motherboards, or the rewritable cartridges used by developers of software for video game consoles.
- Flashing (retail), getting rid of gaps on shelves to create a 'fuller' shelf
- Flashing (cinematography), a technique that desaturates the color and makes blacks become grey, so that one sees more into the shadow areas.
