Friedrich "Fritz" Ebert (September 12, 1894December 4, 1979) was the son of Friedrich Ebert, the 9th Chancellor of Germany and the first President of Weimar Republic.

Unlike his father, who was a social-democrat and an avid anti-communist, Fritz became a member of the German Communist Party.

He was acting Chairman of the Council of State in the German Democratic Republic and thus head of state of the GDR for a brief period in 1973.
