Garland is the name of three places in the United States:

Garland is the surname of some notable individuals:
- John of Garland, medieval English grammarian, fl. 13th century.
- actress Judy Garland, best known for her role in The Wizard of Oz, and mother of Liza Minnelli.
- Confederate Civil War General Samuel Garland, Jr. (1830-1862), who was killed at Fox's Gap during the Battle of South Mountain.
- U.S. Air Force General William M. Garland (1908-1991), assistant chief of operations for the Eighth Air Force in the European Theater during World War II.
- Alex Garland (born 1970), British novelist, author of the novels The Beach (1996), The Tesseract (1998), The Coma (2004), and the screenplay for Danny Boyle's 2003 movie 28 Days Later

- Garland is also a strong Beyblade character and fighter who plays for BEGA.
- Garland is also an enemy in Final Fantasy who inhabits the Temple of Fiends. He is also an enemy in Final Fantasy IX who created all the genomes in the game on his planet Terra.
- In some forms of coalminers' jargon, a garland is a metal gutter placed round a mine shaft on the inside, to catch water running down inside the shaft and run it into a drainpipe.
