Gembloux

Image:Gembloux JPG05.jpg Gembloux (in Dutch: Gembloers) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Namur. On 1 January 2005 the municipality had 21,661 inhabitants (10,771 males and 10,890 females). The total area is 95.86 km², giving a population density of 225.96 inhabitants per km².

This city is well known for its Agronomical University and for its cutlery.

In the vicinity of the town in 1578 the Battle of Gembloux was fought and in May 1940 the Battle of the Gembloux Gap, a gigantic tank battle during the larger Battle of France
