GenCorp

GenCorp is an American technology-based manufacturer descended from the General Tire and Rubber Company.

It was formed in 1984 as a holding company for General Tire's various businesses. Its main subsidiaries were General Tire, broadcaster RKO General and defense contractor Aerojet.

GenCorp sold RKO General in 1987, after it was forced to sell all of its stations due to widespread lying to advertisers and regulators. The same year, it sold General Tire to German tire maker Continental AG in order to concentrate on Aerojet.
