The sixteen figures of Western geomancy (divination by signs in the earth) are:

  • Via (Way/Road)

The figure resembles a road or path. It is considered bad practically all things, but good with concerns of roads, travels, or journeys. Astrologically it is associated with Cancer and the Moon.

It is considered very bad in most situations, such that in older traditions if this was the first figure drawn the geomancy reading was stopped. It is only good in circumstances for ending or completing things, e.g. breaking up a relationship. Astrologically it is associated with the Tail of the Dragon.
