Gerard Gallant

Gerard "Turk" Gallant (born September 2, 1963 in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada) is a Canadian ice hockey coach and former NHL player. He is currently the head coach of the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets.
Gallant was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft, sixth round, one-hundred seventh overall. He scored 211 goals in 615 games as a leftwinger for the Red Wings and Tampa Bay Lightning. He also scored 18 playoff goals. His nickname is a shortened form of a nickname his older brother used for him: "Turkey".
