The city of Groenlo

Groenlo is famous for its own beer brewery Grolsch, which was in business since 1615, but was closed in 2004, when it was moved to Boekelo. Every season has its own special beer type. Grolsch is exported all over the world.

Groenlo received city rights in 1277.
