Guard band

A guard band is a small part of the radio spectrum in between radio bands, for the purpose of preventing interference.

Guard band also refers to the unused space between tracks on magnetic tape which prevents interference from adjacent tracks when reading from a particular track on the tape.Template:Electro-stub
