Originating from the ancient Phoenician and Canaanite god of storms, who was subsumed into an aspect of Baal, see Hadad.
Haddad is also a common Levantine last name, meaning "black smith"; people with this name included Major Saad Haddad. Other versions are Al Haddad and El Haddad
Haddad is also one of the trio of "Whitman, Price, and Haddad", "last season's winners" on the fictional TV show The Running Man.
