Hatebreed
From Free net encyclopedia
Hatebreed is a Metalcore band from Bridgeport and New Haven, Connecticut. The band started in 1995, and quickly became one of the top bands in the genre due to their intense musical style and constant support and work for the hardcore scene. They quickly released a split with New York's Neglect, a highly acclaimed EP called Under The Knife in 1996, and the following year released what many fans consider the definitive 1990's hardcore album, Satisfaction Is The Death Of Desire on Victory Records, then the home of some of the biggest bands in hardcore. A constant touring schedule pushed them beyond the boundaries of the hardcore scene, and tours with national metal bands such as Slayer and Slipknot brought them to the attention of many non-hardcore fans. These influences were apparent on the band's next two releases, 2002's Perseverance, and especially 2003's The Rise of Brutality. The band still maintain tight connections to the hardcore community, evidenced by the lineup for the band's 10 year anniversary show (25 and 26 November 2005 in New Haven), which includes Neglect, One 4 One, Irate, and reunions by All Out War and Skarhead.
Singer Jamey Jasta is the host of the MTV2 television program "Headbanger's Ball", and runs Stillborn Records, home of Subzero, Full Blown Chaos, and Jasta's own side project with Skarhead's Lord Ezec called Icepick.
As of March 21, it is mostly rumored that the band will be the "Main Stage" band from this year's Ozzfest to sign with Roadrunner Records
In an article with MTV.com here, it appears that the band is actually close to signing a deal with Roadrunner, as well the band announced the title for their next record, which is called Supremacy in which Jasta described as an "all-out onslaught of completely adrenaline-charged, in-your-face brutality." The record is due in August.
