Holly Short

Holly Short is a LEPrecon officer in the Artemis Fowl children's book series.

She was abducted by the twelve-year-old criminal mastermind Artemis Fowl II in his attempt at ransom. She is the first female in Recon under the command of Commander Julius Root. Root becomes like a father to her. She is a great shuttle pilot, a quick thinker, and a true policewoman. After Root was killed in an explosion by Opal Koboi and his position is given to Ark Sool, Holly resigns. She and Mulch Diggums now run a private investigation agency.

Holly Short is an elf with an auburn crewcut and hazel eyes, pointy ears (like all elves) and a chatty mouth. She is only one centimeter under three feet (exactly one meter altogether), one centimeter below the average height for a fairy, and has a gymnast-like stance. She also has a good sense of humor that accompanies her cockiness. Holly is the great-granddaughter of Cupid.

Her best friends are Foaly, Major Trouble Kelp and Commander Julius Root, until Root was killed by Opal Koboi. She also became friends with Artemis Fowl after many adventures, and currently maintains secret communication with him. Artemis may become a consultant in her private investigation agency.

Her hobbies are reading and playing crunch ball.

Holly is described as pretty in two different ways: pointy, and like a black widow. she has nut-brown skin and her auburn hair is cut short.
