Introduction
Hyundai Heavy Industries is the world's largest shipbuilder, a major builder of Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels, and one of the fastest growing companies in construction equipment.

Products
HHI produces tankers, bulk carriers, containerships, gas and chemical carriers. The company makes ship engines, provides offshore oil and gas drilling platforms, and undersea pipelines. Furthermore, the company produces a wide array of powerplant products, contruction equipment, and industrial robots. Finally HHI also builds and distributes construction equipment all over the world: mini-excavators, crawler excavators, wheeled excavators, wheel loaders, skid steer loaders and forklift trucks (diesel, lpg and battery powered). It is market leader in China for what excavators is concerned.
Ships built by Hyundai include the iron ore carrier Berge Stahl, which at 364,768 dead weight tons is one of the world's largest bulk haulers.
History
The company was founded by Chung Ju-yung on March 23, 1972
It was spun off from the Hyundai Group in February 2002.
