Imrali

Imrali (Turkish: İmralı) is a small Turkish island located in the Marmara Sea. It long served as a minimum security prison and contained vacation facilities for the personnel of Turkish Ministry of Justice, but was emptied of prisoners in 1999 to become a maximum security prison for Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of PKK.
