Image:Parallax.jpgIrrlicht is an open source 3D engine. It is cross-platform, currently running on Windows and Linux with bindings for several programming languages.

Irrlicht is known for its speed and 3D engine capabilities, along with its shallow learning curve. Other capabilites that games require must be provided by other packages, such as an audio engine like Audiere, or a physics engine like ODE.
