Irus
From Free net encyclopedia
In Greek mythology, Irus was one of several figures:
- Irus (also Iros or Arnaeus) was a beggar of Ithaca before Odysseus, disguised as beggar, came and took place. Shows theme of Savagery, unhospitable, and young vs. old, Odysseus looks old because of disguise, but is very strong and defeats the beggar. Appearances aren't everything.
- Irus was the son of Actor and Aegina, and with Demonassa was the father of Eurydamas and Eurytion.
