Island Park is a city located in Fremont County, Idaho. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 215.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 19.3 km² (7.4 mi²). 16.1 km² (6.2 mi²) of it is land and 3.2 km² (1.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 16.40% water.

Demographics

As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there were 215 people, 90 households, and 57 families residing in the city. The population density was 13.3/km² (34.6/mi²). There were 425 housing units at an average density of 26.4/km² (68.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 95.81% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.93% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 2.33% from other races, and 0.93% from two or more races. 4.19% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 90 households out of which 22.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.6% were married couples living together, 6.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.6% were non-families. 27.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 2.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.39 and the average family size was 2.93.

In the city the population was spread out with 19.5% under the age of 18, 11.2% from 18 to 24, 27.4% from 25 to 44, 28.4% from 45 to 64, and 13.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 112.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 119.0 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $26,250, and the median income for a family was $30,000. Males had a median income of $22,292 versus $16,250 for females. The per capita income for the city was $15,617. 23.9% of the population and 21.0% of families were below the poverty line. 37.9% of those under the age of 18 and 0.0% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
