Israeli MIAs

Several hundred members of the Israeli military have been declared Missing In Action (MIA) since 1948. Only five are believed to still be alive in captivity.

The following are the MIAs believed to be alive today:

• Tank crewmembers declared missing after the Battle of Sultan Yakoub in Lebanon, 1982:
  • Zachary Baumel
  • Tzvi Feldman
  • Yehuda Katz

• F-4 navigator lost over Lebanon in 1986:
  • Ron Arad

• IDF conscript who disappeared on duty in the Golan Heights, 1997:
  • Guy Hever
