James Parrott

Paul (James) Parrott (August 2 1898, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - May 10 1939), was an American comic actor and film director. He acted in a series of comedies in the 1920s using the name Paul Parrott, but is best remembered as one of Laurel & Hardy's most frequent directors.
During the 1930's he had a serious drink and drug problem, and just before his untimely death he asked his older brother Charley Chase for money, which was refused. He died of a heart attack on May 10 1939 in Hollywood, California.
