Jing'an District

Jing'an (静安) is one of the central districts of Shanghai. It has an area of 7.62 km2. With 305,300 inhabitants (in 2002) it is one of Shanghai's most densely populated districts.

The district borders the Huangpu District in the east and Suzhou River to the north. Many of the Shanghai's numerous expatriates live in Jing'an district and it houses several luxurious residential complexes.

It is also home to the true central business district of Shanghai.

Jing'an Temple is located in the district.
