Kakeya, Shimane

Kakeya (掛合町; -machi) was a town located in Iishi District, Shimane, Japan.
As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 3,783 and a density of 34.55 persons per km². The total area was 109.50 km².

Merger
On November 12004, Kakeya merged with the towns of Daito, Kamo and Kisuki from Ohara District and the towns and villages of Mitoya and Yoshida from Iishi District to form the new city of Unnan.Template:Shimane-geo-stub
