Kevin Major

Kevin Major (born September 12, 1949) is a Canadian children's author who lives in St. John's, Newfoundland. He was born in Stephenville, Newfoundland and grew up there, later moving to St. John's to attend Memorial University. After school he became a teacher for a few years before quiting to write full time. His novels are known for exploring issues of adolescence and the family. They are usually set in Newfoundland. In 1992 he was awarded the Vicky Metcalf Award for his body of work.
