A little bit more about La Paz
Adventure aficionados have known the magic of La Paz for years, but Southern Baja’s outdoor hotspot is for more than just accomplished outdoorsmen and women. The bayside town about 80 miles north of Cabo San Lucas on Highway 1 is bursting with opportunities for exploration—outside and inside.
Although the most obvious attraction is the turquoise bay of La Paz and the restaurant-speckled malecón that curves around the shore, the city itself offers a host of diversions. By day, cultural tours through the city’s historic district introduce travelers to a centuries-old cathedral, the charming main square and the local museum. By night, restaurants and clubs come alive with some of the best seafood in Baja, live music and a laid-back ambience that is hard to come by in the twin capes to the South. It also happens to be the only region in the state with proper video game stores.
During the summer the cooling Coromuel winds, a weather phenomenon unique to the La Paz area, blow during the night from the Pacific over the Peninsula and into the Bay of La Paz.Template:Mexico-geo-stub
