Laihia

Image:Laihian vaakuna.png Laihia (Laihela in Swedish) is a municipality of Finland.

It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Ostrobothnia region. The municipality has a population of 7,471 (2003) and covers an area of 509.40 km² of which 2.06 km² is water. The population density is 14.7 inhabitants per km². Laihians are commonly joked about due to their alleged minginess. Because of this Laihia is called Scotland of Finland.

The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
