Lebo is a city located in Coffey County, Kansas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 961.
Geography
Lebo is located at 38°24'56" North, 95°51'31" West (38.415517, -95.858633)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.9 km² (1.1 mi²). 2.6 km² (1.0 mi²) of it is land and 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 10.81% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there were 961 people, 371 households, and 271 families residing in the city. The population density was 374.8/km² (969.2/mi²). There were 387 housing units at an average density of 150.9/km² (390.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.88% White, 0.00% African American, 0.42% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.56% from other races, and 1.14% from two or more races. 2.81% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 371 households out of which 35.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.6% were married couples living together, 7.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.7% were non-families. 23.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 3.04.
In the city the population was spread out with 28.6% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 22.7% from 45 to 64, and 15.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 99.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.0 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $39,297, and the median income for a family was $45,089. Males had a median income of $31,058 versus $19,821 for females. The per capita income for the city was $16,532. 5.2% of the population and 4.6% of families were below the poverty line. 1.8% of those under the age of 18 and 10.7% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
