Licq

From Free net encyclopedia

Template:Infobox Software In computing, Licq is a free clone of the official ICQ client that runs on Linux and on other Unix systems. Newer versions have support for ICQ/AIM and MSN. Licq has many of the features of the official client and has no built-in ads, unlike AOL's client. In addition, it is possible to encrypt messages using SSL when talking to contacts that also use Licq or mICQ or SIM (but Licq doesn't recognize non-Licq SSL capability by itself). It lacks support for sending acknowledged messages.

Licq is licensed under the terms of the GNU General Public License. The default user interface uses Qt, though other interfaces, such as the console or the [[GTK+]] ones, are available through the use of plugins.
