Luhansk Oblast (Template:Lang-uk, Luhans’ka oblast’ or Луганщина, Luhanshchyna; Template:Lang-ru, Luganskaya oblast) is the easternmost oblast (province) of Ukraine. Its capital is Luhans'k. Historically the oblast belongs to the historical region of Donbas as well as to Sloboda Ukraine (Slobozhanshchina).
The area of the oblast is 26,700 km², its population (as of 2004-05-01) is 2.5 million.
The population is largely Russian-speaking although ethnic Ukrainians constitute a majority.
