Manchester Velodrome

Manchester Velodrome is a velodrome in Manchester.

Opened in September 1994, it is the United Kingdom's leading indoor Olympic-standard cycle track and was used to host the track cycling events in the 2002 Commonwealth Games. The track has a reputation for quick times; as of 24 December 2005, 12 current cycling world records were set at the VelodromeTemplate:Ref, including Chris Boardman's World Hour Record and the 4000m pursuit record set by the Australian men's team.

Today it is home to the National Cycling Centre.

It was announced on 30th January 2006 that the Manchester Velodrome would host the 2008 World Indoor Track Cycling Championships in March 2008.
