The Manhattan Life Insurance Building was one of the oldest skyscrapers. The building, which rose to 348 ft (106.1 m), was finished in 1894 and had a small expansion in 1904. It was the world's first building to pass the 100 m mark, a feat which was followed in the following year by Milwaukee City Hall. Located in Manhattan in New York City, the building has since been demolished.
