Template:Cleanup-date Matthew Langford Perry (born August 19, 1969) is an American-Canadian actor, most famous for playing the role of Chandler Bing on the American television sitcom Friends (1994-2004). Perry has also guest starred in Ally McBeal, The West Wing, Scrubs, and has lent his voice to The Simpsons. He has also appeared on Punk'd.

Matthew Perry was born in Williamstown, Massachusetts, USA, but grew up in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. His father is character actor John Bennett Perry (b. January 4, 1941) and his mother is Suzanne Perry Morrison (who had been a press secretary for Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau). His parents divorced and both remarried. His stepfather is Canadian-trained NBC newscaster Keith Morrison and his stepmother is Debbie Perry. He has four half-sisters and one half-brother. Younger half-sister, Caitlin Morrison, younger half-sister, Emily Morrison, one younger half-brother, Willy Morrison, younger half-sister, Madeleine Morrison and younger half-sister, Marie Perry. Matthew attended Rockcliffe Park Public School and Ashbury College, both in Ottawa.

Perry is missing part of his right middle finger due to a door-shutting accident.

In November 2004, after the series finale of Friends, he directed and guest-starred on an episode of Scrubs. His father also starred in the episode, playing the father of Matthew's character. (The two had previously starred as father and son in the 1997 movie Fools Rush In.)
Perry hosted the 2005 ESPY Awards, which took place on July 13 in Los Angeles.
He is also a huge hockey fan. His favorite NHL team is the Ottawa Senators. He often attends the playoff games in Ottawa, Canada.
Perry's image has also appeared in every episode of the Friends spin-off Joey. Joey has a picture of himself & Chandler (Perry) in his new apartment.
He dated actress Yasmine Bleeth.
Perry is confirmed as of January 27, 2006, to have accepted a lead role in Aaron Sorkin/Thomas Schlamme's Fall 2006 dramedy Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
Was the youngest cast member of Friends.
Perry was mentioned in the December 2005 short film Lazy Sunday, starring Saturday Night Live cast members Chris Parnell and Andy Samberg, as the answer to the movie trivia question, "What Friends alum starred in films with Bruce Willis?" (The Whole Nine Yards, The Whole Ten Yards, and The Kid)
Perry received more Emmy nominations for his guest appearance in three episodes of The West Wing than for his entire tour of duty on Friends.
Perry is an avid tennis player.
