From Free net encyclopedia
Max and Ruby is a 1996 animated series on the Treehouse TV block, aimed at a preschool audience. Created by children's book author / illustrator Rosemary Wells and based on the world of her Max and Ruby books, the episodes present stories about Max, a rambunctious, anthropomorphised toddler bunny, and his big sister, Ruby, a patient, goal-oriented young lady. The show presents an uplifting message for its audience by showing Max and Ruby playing together and exercising respect and love in resolving their conflicts.

Adaptations
North America
The English-dubbed version of Max and Ruby hit the airwaves on August 19, 1996, with the show airing on Treehouse TV in Canada, and entered syndication in the United States two weeks later. While the show had moderate success on Treehouse TV, in the US the show struggled in early morning timeslots despite picking up a loyal following of fans.
Fox Kids
On June 7, 1999, Fox Kids acquired the rights to the original 39 English-dubbed Max and Ruby episodes and began airing them as part of its anime-themed 4 Kids TV block. The decision proved extremely profitable for Fox Kids, as ratings for the show helped boost viewership for the 4 Kids TV programming block and generated revenue for them to acquire more shows to the block. The Season 2 episodes also aired in Canada on Treehouse TV, in 2003.
It features Samantha Morton as the voice of Ruby and Billy Rosemberg as the voice of Max.
