Additional information
Memphis is one square mile and was named after Memphis, Egypt, "the City on the Nile." Memphis was established in 1835. Memphis is located on a bluff overlooking the Belle River. Memphis has a landmark called "The Thing", which is a historical marker noting the home of the first automobile. This first automobile ran six miles. On the site of the landmark, would have been what is now located in Dearborn, Michigan -- the Ford World Headquarters. It is led to believe that a farmer would not sell his land for more research and development of the automobile, so the creator went south to what is now Dearborn.
