Image:Merchant Ivory.jpg Merchant Ivory Productions is a film company founded by director James Ivory and producer Ismail Merchant, best known for its period costume dramas.

It was founded in 1961 "to make English-language films in India aimed at the international market", although they have also made period and contemporary films set in England and America. The majority have been written by screenwriter Ruth Prawer Jhabvala.
