Midpoint

The midpoint is the middle point of a line segment. It is equidistant from both endpoints. The formula for determining the midpoint of a segment with endpoints <math>(x_1, y_1)</math> and <math>(x_2, y_2)</math> is

<math>\left(\frac{x_1 + x_2}{2}, \frac{y_1 + y_2}{2}\right).</math>
