Midway is a city located in Liberty County, Georgia. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 1,100.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 14.5 km² (5.6 mi²). 14.4 km² (5.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.71% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there were 1,100 people, 331 households, and 241 families residing in the city. The population density was 76.4/km² (197.8/mi²). There were 395 housing units at an average density of 27.4/km² (71.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 58.82% White, 37.18% African American, 0.55% Native American, 1.27% Asian, 0.18% Pacific Islander, 0.45% from other races, and 1.55% from two or more races. 2.36% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 331 households out of which 38.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.1% were married couples living together, 16.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.9% were non-families. 20.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.81 and the average family size was 3.21.
In the city the population was spread out with 25.7% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 30.7% from 25 to 44, 18.8% from 45 to 64, and 17.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 92.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.2 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $29,205, and the median income for a family was $31,607. Males had a median income of $27,014 versus $20,313 for females. The per capita income for the city was $13,078. 19.0% of the population and 15.2% of families were below the poverty line. 25.3% of those under the age of 18 and 20.6% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
