Modacrylic

Modacrylic, also called modified acrylic, Is a medium-weight fiber with fair strength and abrasion resistance. It has good drape and is highly resistant to sunlight. Its end uses include fur-like fabrics, wigs, upholstery.

Chemically a modacrylic is defined as having from 35% to 85% by weight of acrylonitrile units. 1
