National Science Digital Library

From Free net encyclopedia

The National Science Digital Library (NSDL) is the nation's free online library for education and research in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Established in 2000 by the National Science Foundation, NSDL provides access to high quality resources, services, and tools supporting innovation in teaching and learning at all levels of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. STEM content is aggregated from a variety of other digital libraries and NSF-funded projects. NSDL also provides access to services and tools that enhance the use of such content in a variety of contexts. NSDL is targeted primarily for K-16 educators, but anyone can access NSDL.org and search the library at no cost. Access to most of the resources discovered through NSDL is free; however, some content providers require a nominal fee or subscription to retrieve their specific resources.
