Odebolt is a city located in Sac County, Iowa. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 1,153.

History
The first European to pass through here was a French fur trapper named Odebeau. Odebolt is a corruption of his name. Sac County grows a large portion of Iowa's popcorn crop, which is why Cracker Jack once had a factory here.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there were 1,153 people, 467 households, and 296 families residing in the city. The population density was 424.0/km² (1,102.7/mi²). There were 518 housing units at an average density of 190.5/km² (495.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 99.22% white.
There were 467 households out of which 27.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.1% were married couples living together, 5.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.6% were non-families. 34.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 23.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.30 and the average family size was 2.99.
Age/Gender Breakdown: 23.4% under the age of 18, 4.9% from 18 to 24, 22.8% from 25 to 44, 18.8% from 45 to 64, and 30.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females there were 87.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 82.4 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $30,208, and the median income for a family was $40,917. Males had a median income of $30,000 versus $18,438 for females. The per capita income for the city was $15,971. 9.5% of the population and 7.6% of families were below the poverty line. 14.9% of those under the age of 18 and 10.3% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
