Oto is a city located in Woodbury County, Iowa, USA. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 145.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.7 km² (0.3 mi²). 0.7 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there were 145 people, 54 households, and 40 families residing in the city. The population density was 215.3/km² (552.7/mi²). There were 67 housing units at an average density of 99.5/km² (255.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.55% White, 0.00% African American, 2.76% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.69% from two or more races. 0.69% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 54 households out of which 29.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.0% were married couples living together, 14.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.9% were non-families. 24.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.69 and the average family size was 3.05.
In the city the population was spread out with 29.7% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 35.9% from 25 to 44, 14.5% from 45 to 64, and 13.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 101.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.2 males.
