Paulden is a census-designated place located in Yavapai County, Arizona, U.S.. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 3,420.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 162.7 km² (62.8 mi²). 162.5 km² (62.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.10% water.

Demographics

As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there were 3,420 people, 1,144 households, and 925 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 21.0/km² (54.5/mi²). There were 1,334 housing units at an average density of 8.2/km² (21.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 91.99% White, 0.53% Black or African American, 2.37% Native American, 0.20% Asian, 0.12% Pacific Islander, 2.87% from other races, and 1.93% from two or more races. 15.64% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 1,144 households out of which 40.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.4% were married couples living together, 7.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.1% were non-families. 13.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.99 and the average family size was 3.28.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 31.5% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 25.4% from 45 to 64, and 8.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 102.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 105.4 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $32,532, and the median income for a family was $31,538. Males had a median income of $26,216 versus $21,641 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $13,423. 17.3% of the population and 14.2% of families were below the poverty line. 19.4% of those under the age of 18 and 13.5% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
