In anatomy, the pedicle (also spelled pedicel) is the segment between the transverse process and the vertebral body.
The pedicle is often used as a radiographic marker and entry point in vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty procedures.
In zoology, a pedicle is a fleshy line used to attach and anchor brachiopods and some bivalve mollusks to a substrate.
In botany, a pedicel is the stalk of an individual flower.
In cervids the pedicle is the attachment point for antlers.
In entomology, pedicel is the second segment of the antenna in the Class Insecta, where the Johnston's organ is found.
Also, pedicel is the stem formed by a resticted abdominal segment which connects the thorax with the gaster (the remaining abdominal segments) in the Order Hymenoptera
