Perry is a city located in Box Elder County, Utah. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 2,383.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 19.9 km² (7.7 mi²). 19.9 km² (7.7 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there were 2,383 people, 747 households, and 643 families residing in the city. The population density was 120.0/km² (310.9/mi²). There were 789 housing units at an average density of 39.7/km² (102.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 95.68% White, 0.08% African American, 0.34% Native American, 0.42% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 2.22% from other races, and 1.22% from two or more races. 3.73% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 747 households out of which 46.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 78.0% were married couples living together, 5.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 13.8% were non-families. 12.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.19 and the average family size was 3.50.

In the city the population was spread out with 35.2% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 19.4% from 45 to 64, and 10.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 30 years. For every 100 females there were 103.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 102.1 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $52,500, and the median income for a family was $57,857. Males had a median income of $41,761 versus $26,806 for females. The per capita income for the city was $19,092. 2.2% of the population and 1.2% of families were below the poverty line. 2.9% of those under the age of 18 and 4.0% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
