Persistence of Time
From Free net encyclopedia
Persistence of Time is the fifth studio album by the thrash metal band Anthrax. The album was released in 1990, (see 1990 in music) by Megaforce Worldwide/Island Entertainment. The band and Mark Dodson produced the album, which was released as a double album (along with Among the Living) in Germany in 2000. The album includes the singles, "Got the Time" and "In My World". Persistence of Time was certified gold by the RIAA.
Its highest Billboard Music Chart position was #24 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Persistence of Time stands out among other Anthrax albums due to its unified lyrical focus on the need for tolerance and peace. The ghoulish and macabre elements of the music remain, and the album is as aggressive as ever, with a rapidfire beat. Musically it was definitely the bands most progressive album, with many songs clocking in at over 5 (and often over 6 and 7) minutes.
This would be the last Anthrax studio album to feature Joey Belladonna on vocals before he rejoined in 2004.
