Pictor

Template:Infobox Constellation Pictor, being Latin for easel, is one of the minor southern (declination -50 to -60) constellations. It contains the star β Pictoris that is surrounded by a dust disk.

History

Since it was invented by Nicolas Louis de Lacaille in the 17th Century, to fill space not visible to the Greeks, it has no pre-18th century mythology surrounding it.
