Preston is a village located in Hickory County, Missouri. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 113.
Geography
Preston is located at 37°56'30" North, 93°12'40" West (37.941571, -93.211015)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²). 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there were 113 people, 50 households, and 31 families residing in the town. The population density was 256.6/km² (666.4/mi²). There were 67 housing units at an average density of 152.2/km² (395.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 50 households out of which 30.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.0% were married couples living together, 14.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 38.0% were non-families. 36.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 18.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.26 and the average family size was 3.00.
