Princess of Altay

The Princess of Altay is a mummy excavated in 1993 from the Altay Mountains in southern Siberia.
The ethnicity of the remains was questioned, and an argument over the burial grounds ensued. Local people wanted her remains to be reburied in Altay, claiming that the earthquakes that had been taking place were caused by her excavation.
