Projection

A projection can be any one of the following:
- In cartography, a map projection.
- In chemistry, any one of the following:
- In cinematography, projection refers to the display of a motion picture in a theater by means of a movie projector, more recently, by a digital projector.
- In dentistry, enamel projections are focal apical extensions of the coronal enamel beyond the normally smooth cervical margin and on to the root of the tooth.
- In digital identity, a projection is a transaction. See also link contracts.
- In graphical projection, a 3D projection is any one of several ways of representing a three-dimensional scene in two-dimensional form, for instance, isometric projection, oblique projection, and orthographic projection.
- In mathematics, a projection is any one of several different types of functions, mappings, operations, or transformations.
- In military strategy and international relations, projection of force refers to the latent or actualized capacity to win armed contests in distant theatres.
- In neuroscience, the projection of a given neuron is its collective output to other neurons.
- In relational algebra, an interdisciplinary field in the intersection of computer science, database theory, logic, and mathematics, see projection (relational algebra).
